Baby Massage

Over a five-session course, parents and babies deepen their connection through nurturing touch, continue developing their sacred bond, and have a safe space to continue in their parenting journey.

Communication

Massage is a powerful medium to communicate with our babies, receive their feedback, and respond to their signals. In responding to our baby’s cues, we use massage as a tool to communicate.

development

In the safest hands of the parent, baby massage can support emotional, cognitive and physical development.

respect

Through massage strokes and gentle movements, parents communicate love, acceptance and respect. We ask for permission to begin massage and only proceed with what our baby wants.

Gentle

Over 5 weeks we meet in a weekly rhythm to introduce the massage slowly. This gives babies the opportunity to get to know the new charm of massage and for families to integrate the practice.

community

Each class makes time to share and ask questions. There is space for an open exchange for parents to share in their collective wisdom.

acceptance

Come as you are. You and your baby are welcome in whichever way you show up. In massage, we just make time to be present.

Frequently asked questions

  • The IAIM programme is designed for babies from birth to 12 months (and beyond). As it is entirely baby-led, your baby will only have the massage they want.

Unless otherwise mentioned, my classes are for babies approximately 6 weeks-to-crawling. Before 6 weeks can sometimes be a time for healing and rest, and after learning to crawl babies sometimes seek more stimulation. You will know what time is right for you and your baby to start.

  • You will. The bonding and attachment between parents and babies are sacred processes and baby massage creates time to grow this connection, safety and love. It is always the parents (or primary caregiver) that offers massage.

  • Yes, please join! Just as you have navigated the journey so far, you will know how to make baby massage work for you and I am ready to support.

  • I offer private courses individually and for groups (up to a maximum of 8 families). This can be a really lovely way for existing communities to enjoy baby massage together, or for families who want a tailored experience.

A full course costs 660 EUR for 5 classes. Please reach out over email if you’d like to explore dates and booking options.

  • Yes, partners are welcome! And if you or your baby need to have any medical support people to participate, please do.

If you’re attending with extra people, just let me know so that I can be sure to have enough space so you are comforable.

  • Babies can be unpredictable and it’s not a problem to miss classes!
Each class includes a review of the massage strokes from the previous class, so you’ll always know what was covered. You’ll also receive a package including all the information covered the course in case you want to reference it in detail. And I am available to discuss any questions or review things you might have missed.

  • I am qualified and certified with IAIM and DGBM e.V., following their training program. It is this massage that I teach in courses - there are lots of options out there! You will know which resonate with you and would be a good fit for you and your baby.

  • Yes, I can offer an electronic gift certificate that will let your recipient choose a course at their own date and time.

Testimonials

  • "When I walked into a room full of mothers, I felt awkward. But I was instantly welcomed and put at ease by you; the chance to talk to other parents turned into one of the best parts."

Ashley and his 8 week old

  • "Attending this class was the first time I left the house alone with my baby. I was so nervous but you made me feel so comfortable and welcome. This helped my confidence as a parent as much as learning massage did."

Sarah and her 6 week old

  • “Having a relaxed and peaceful environment to connect with my baby and other parents was so important. I looked forward to class every week.”
